Representatives of the Norwegian Courts Administration on study visit in Poland

On 1 and 2 April 2014, representatives of the Norwegian National Courts Administration participate in a study visit to Poland. NCA is a partner institution in the pre-defined project “Strengthening the position of crime victims and support for witnesses in criminal proceedings”, implemented by the Department of International Cooperation and Human Rights in the Ministry of Justice.

The aim of the study visits is to enable Polish and Norwegian experts to learn more about crime victims support systems functioning in the partner’s country and complement the scope of the pre-defined project.

During a visit to the Ministry of Justice the guests will meet with the Deputy Minister Wojciech Węgrzyn and representatives of the Department of International Cooperation and Human Rights.

They will be provided with information on assistance to crime victims and the prevention of domestic violence. Other activities of the Department will be presented too.

After the meeting at the Ministry of Justice the guests will participate in a visit to the child-friendly hearing room located at the premises of the NGO “Nobody’s Children” in Warsaw.

On 2 April the guests will visit the District Court for the Capital City of Warsaw,  where they will meet with the judges of the Criminal Division. Then they will visit the District Court for Warsaw Prague South, where they will meet with the President of the Court and have an occasion to see the courtrooms, interrogation room for children and victims of rape and Customer Service Point.

Later that day the Norwegian representatives will visit the Crime Victims Support Centre in Warsaw.

The study visit is financed within the Bilateral Cooperation Fund at the Programme level .
