On December 10, 2013 at the headquarters of the Ministry of Justice the Programme Operator organized a seminar launching the implementation of the Operational Programme “Judicial Capacity building and Cooperation / Improvement of the efficiency of justice “. Participants learned about the activities financed with the Norwegian funds and aiming to improve administrative capacities of courts and court management , provide support to victims of crime and organize legal education events as well as ensure the development of alternative methods of dispute resolution. The seminar was opened by Mr Jerzy Kozdroń – Secretary of State in the Ministry of Justice and Mr. Karsten Klepsvik – the Ambassador of Norway in Poland. The meeting was attended , among others, by representatives of the Embassy of Norway in Poland , Deputy Presidents of the Courts of Appeal , the representatives of the Project Promoters and of legal corporations as well as NGOs working in the thematic areas covered by the Programme .
The seminar was started with a short presentation on the strategy of the justice system. Other discussed issues included computerization of the judiciary, improving the functioning of courts and their management methods. Another part of the event was devoted to the discussion of issues related to strengthening the position of crime victims and support for witnesses in criminal proceedings. The speakers presented main objectives as well as the outcomes and outputs that would be achieved thanks to the implementation of pre-defined projects . The seminar ended with a joint lunch.
