With regard to preparations to implementation of the Strengthening the position of crime victims and support for witnesses in criminal proceedings project under the Judicial capacity-building and cooperation/Improvement of the efficiency of justice programme executed in partnership with the Norwegian Courts Administration, on 20 and 21 May 2015 the representatives of the International Cooperation and Human Rights Department in the Ministry of Justice and the representative of the Nobody’s Children Foundation held the return visit to Oslo. Earlier, i.e. in April of the current year, the delegation of the Norwegian Courts Administration completed their study visit to Poland.
During the visit to Oslo, the Polish party was presented with the solutions concerning the support system for witnesses in the criminal proceedings and familiarized itself with the specific operation and output of the Norwegian Red Cross in this area. In addition, operation of this system in practice was demonstrated. The presentation with details of preparations of the court for examining so called the 22 July case (Breivik Case) – in the course of which the usefulness and need for the witness support system clearly manifested themselves – attracted particular attention.
Details of further activities carried out in cooperation with the Partner were specified in the course of direct discussions.
